I tend to gravitate toward sci-fi, fantasy, romance, and historical genres, but I enjoy the occasional mystery, action, or comedy series too.

Utena is one of my favorite series of all time, there's just So Much Happening in it... I rec it all the time.

It was just so good. I want to watch it again lmao. Do you have any particular faves? I really liked Anthy, Wakaba, Nanami, and Utena of course, but cared a lot about most all of the characters, even the shittiest and most disastrous of the teens. I also got very weirdly attached to Akio's throwaway wife, last seen being fed apples as if she were a helpless baby bird (what HAPPENED there??? dying to know)

Nanami and Juri(+Shiori) are my ultimate faves but Utena and Anthy are great too of course. All the girls in the show are fantastic. And the guys are there too I guess -_- sjhfskjdfs a necessary evil. Saionji is probably the funniest to meme on though. But as characters I think everyone is really well done/interesting. I really need to do a re-watch at some point because I'm sure like 50% of what was going on went over my head the first time.

It's funny because I was just talking to someone else about the Utena guys, specifically Saionji, and my word on him was "I wish Saionji a very grow up and be less terrible." They just came back like two weeks after I dropped that comment to say that they had finished the series and now they understood. 😂 I like the Utena guys like I like leeches and mosquitoes: they play an important role in their ecosystems, but no fucking way do I want them on me.

Saionji is like, funny because he's the first guy you see be a big shit and you're like wow what a jerk?? but then you get farther into the show and it's like oh lordy he's basically the least problematic of all the big shits jshdfksjhdf
