My wrists are hurting again and I have really fallen behind on my reading list, but I finally typed up this TV and movie post. I don't know what got into me last month but I got the urge to re-watch a bunch of my favorite action movies, so I did that for a couple weekends. (Oh, I know, it was seeing that The Old Guard 2 was FINALLY getting a release date that sparked this lol.) I also watched a couple new movies, Wicked and Venom 3.

The Old Guard: I am sooo happy the sequel is out of development hell or whatever happened to it, this movie has such a fun premise and they ended on that cliffhanger so I was like pleaseee give us a sequel. And finally it will happen on July 2nd... I have no idea what the plot is going to be but I am excited. I need to see the Andy and Quynh reunion, it better be dramatic as hell. They better fight and then make out.

The Losers: This is an old fave that has not aged particularly well lol but it still has a great cast and some fun action. Rewatching has rekindled my love for Cougar/Jensen, enough that I almost want to reread the comic as well just to make myself sad jshdfkjsdf but I will refrain. Saw a gifset of Cougar the other day with tags comparing him to Billy Rocks from the Magnificent Seven remake (which I also rewatched lol) and I was like shit.....thank you for pointing out I have a specific action movie guy type lmao.

Pacific Rim: Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, etc. The action movie of all time. I have watched this a thousand times and I will watch it a thousand more. We don't talk about the sequel. Baby Mako makes me cry every single time, and the old man yaoi hits just as good as the first time... I miss the days when every fandom had 50 PacRim AUs brewing at the same time. It makes me want to write a Jayvik PacRim AU but I have so much stuff on my fic ideas list ughh.

The Magnificent Seven (2016): I don't know why I love this so much, I'm not a big western girlie? Unless it's gay, of course. Whatever the hell Billy and Goodnight had going on was definitely gay. But this movie is another one with a great ensemble cast, nicely tragic. I wish Chris Pratt wasn't there but you win some you lose some, I guess. Every time I watch this I think I should check out the OG Mag7 and the OG-OG Seven Samurai, but I never do lol.

Wicked: I still cannot believe they turned this into a two-parter. I have always found the Wicked musical inherently funny considering the source material is...not like that. This was okay, nothing particularly stood out about it to me. Ariana Grande unfortunately stole the show, though that may just be inherent to Glinda being the funniest character lmao. Will I be borrowing part 2 from the library when it comes out? Also unfortunately yes.

Venom: The Last Dance: I can't believe I'm saying this...this was not good. And I say this as someone who enjoyed the first movie a lot. (I don't remember anything about the second movie lol but I didn't hate it so I guess that's something.) Like, I don't think a Venom movie has to be good-good, it just needs to be entertaining. And I was kinda bored with this one? Very sad times.

I also finally got around to watching Severance S1! Everyone going in on the S2 hype made me hurry up and watch the first season lol. I haven't watched any of S2 yet, so no spoilers please, but I'm gonna try to get on that once all the episodes are out and I can binge it in a few days. (Does anyone know when the last episode is airing...I'm afraid to Google because you know how the first thing that comes up when you Google a currently airing show is always like "Did Main Character REALLY Die in an Exploding Candy Factory Accident in the Last Episode of Show?")

But S1 was super good, the hype for this one is legit. The tension by the end of the season is insane, when they were in their outie bodies in the last episode I was like ahhhhh the whole time. I'm sooo curious what the hell is going on at that company lmao, I assume their "job" isn't actually doing anything and it's just an experiment for the severance process? But idk. I need to know what the guy with the goats is doing.

The characters are all really good, I don't think I can pick a specific favorite. When Helly kept trying to quit and her outie wouldn't let her I was like whaaat the hell reason could she have for remaining working there, Helly is literally trying to kill her lol. (Same, girl, same.) But then we found out, damn... I'm curious what the reason is for Irving and Dylan being there, since we know about Mark and Helly already.

Oh and all the stuff with Mark's wife!! Did they like...orchestrate her "death" or something just to see if Mark would recognize her at all, or did they just jump on a convenient opportunity lmao. It seems overly complicated Lumon would have had a hand in it, but who knows what the hell they're doing! (Also I am happy to see Dichen Lachman in something again, she's sooo pretty...)

I'm hoping S2 has some answers for stuff and they're not dragging it all out into a third season...like I would love more of course but also I want to know things!! People who are already watching S2 -- are you liking it? Same as S1/better than S1? I know I'll just find out for myself soon enough lol but I'm nosy and can't read people's play-by-play reactions yet. :(

I'm so glad you're enjoying Severance! It's such a weird, interesting concept.

I'm loving S2 as well, even if I find it very stressful to watch; I never know what's going to happen next! The last episode of the season has just come out (I'm excited to watch it this evening!), so you've timed this remarkably well.
