☆ Ahh where does the time go? I've been working on catching up with my reading page; I haven't been able to comment as much as I want, but I have been reading every post! I need to get into the habit of reading more frequently because I WANT to keep up to date but then I get lazy and don't do anything on DW for a week. Then I learn about all the fun stuff going on too late. :(
☆ The library was closed to the public on Friday so we could do our PC replacement, which we do every few years. Of course there was an issue with the server replacement in the morning which delayed things, and we ended up with a bunch of issues that we're still dealing with this week. Our poor IT guy... I don't know why they do this stuff on a Friday and then peace out for the weekend. I'm so glad I wasn't scheduled to work then lmao.
☆ I did hit up a Bath and Body Works soap sale though, they lured me in with their cheap soaps plus additional coupons. I'd been doing so good not buying stuff from them!! But I don't feel too bad because I actually use up the soaps unlike my piles of candles and creams and such. I ended up with 7 soaps and 1 hand cream for my mom that only cost a total of 17 bucks so now I'm all stocked up again. I do love the spring/summer scents, I got a lot of fruity and/or lemony ones this time around.
☆ The week between fic exchange submissions and the collection opening is so stressful I want to know if my recipient likes the fic!! I keep forgetting I'm actually getting something too sjdhfskhf so that's also exciting. I have a second exchange I signed up for so I need this one to be officially "done" so I can put all my focus into the new one lmao. It's nice to be writing again though! In addition to the exchange stuff I also wrote something short for PhoenixFlare Week. I wanted to do more days but I didn't have the time, alas. But at least I got one thing done which definitely counts as progress for me.
☆ Does anyone have any tips for de-cluttering? I reallyyy need to start a long-term project of just getting rid of ancient stuff I'm keeping for no reason, but starting is so daunting and when I actually do try to clean up, the nostalgia gets to me and I end up keeping old stuff I don't need. (Like last time I tried to make space on my bookshelf, got rid of a bunch of books, moved all my newer books into the empty space, and now it's completely full again dammit.) I know I should just start small, empty a single drawer or clean a single shelf, but I have no impetus to even take those small steps.

i've never done anything like that before like exchanges, is this like a gift exchange i assume? that sounds so fun to write something for someone and then get something in return :0 what did you write about/what did you want if you're comfy sharing!
i am so weird that "tips" no longer work with me, i suck it up and just. dedicate myself corner by corner, go through everything, and i find most of the stuff there i haven't thought about or used in many months, so off to the trash it goes. the books are so relatable!! i have a harder time throwing away clothes than random clutter though 🔫

this was my first time doing an exchange actually! they always seemed intimidating to me haha but I finally decided to give one a try... but yeah that's exactly it, you get matched to a person who requests a fandom/ship that you've offered to create for, then at the end the fics are revealed anonymously at first, then un-anon'd after a certain point. that seems to be the way most exchanges do it? this one I did had reveals delayed because they still need a pinch hit done so I'm just like ahhhh the suspense. (technically I should remain hush-hush since creators aren't revealed yet lmao but I actually wrote original fiction which I haven't done in aaages, it was a lot of fun. but also why I'm nervous about reveals sjdhfdsgf)
dooon't even get me started on clothes, I have stuff literally from high school I don't even fit in that I haven't gotten rid of!! I keep clean laundry in a basket in FRONT of my dresser instead of in it because there's no room in the drawers orz

Bath and Body Works always smells so good. I have to remind myself that I won't/can't really use it but it sounds like you got a great deal.

I wish reminding myself that I won't use something worked to stop me sjdhfksjf I used to be sooo bad buying too many BBW products. But I've been doing better not buying more thankfully. Now it's just a matter of using up what I already have...

De-cluttering is an endless struggle. Good luck! Downside of the method you mention is that once you clear a space up, you tend to re-use it in the same way. It's difficult to break the habit of "not using" the space. It's why some folks end up with tables overflowing with junk because once they clear the table off, it's conveniently there for the next time they need to place something down.

Thank you! Yeah I only tend to clear out spaces when I need to use them for new things, which is fine and dandy until I get NEW new things and then have nowhere to put THEM. The endless cycle...

People will say the solution is to stop buying new things, but that's no fun!
no subject
Exactly!! The solution is to just suffer the cycle as needed lmao

Yay for the fic exchange! Yay for PhoenixFlare week! I hope you had a blast! The
Good luck with decluttering! I'm a bully to myself and my general consensus is "out of sight, out of mind, into the donation pile" and it's helped a lot (but yeah it's hard navigating sentimental items -- if they don't come up in my daily life / are irrelevant, I can usually part with them).

I wrote way more than I expected to for the exchange so that was a surprise. and I know what you mean I hadn't even finished this first one and I already signed up for another exchange sjdhfkjsf there's so many good ones out there it's hard to pick only a few? I'm sad I missed a FF one!! What did you end up writing for that?
Thank you! I wish I had that kind of willpower, but I am weak and sad jshdfkjsdhf I need to like, threaten myself with the thought of how horrible it would be if I had to move and pack up everything as is or something as motivation.

The FF exchange is very new! It ran for the first time this year so I expect it will have more traffic next year as word gets out. :D I ended up drawing a digital comic for Ashe/Basch in FFXII, here. <3 I haven't made anything for FFXII before so it was a bit of a challenge haha. I really need to replay that game... I'll be saying that foreva wahhh.
