☆ Did about 1.5 hours of work today before we had to close for a plumbing issue lmao. I'm technically on call to go back in if they are able to re-open the building before this evening, but I feel like that's optimistic given that this has happened before and they definitely didn't fix it that quick. At least I hope things are fixed by the weekend because we have our biggest annual fundraiser party happening and I have no idea what they'll do if we don't have working restrooms by then.

☆ I took the extra time off to finally clean my bathroom and play some Honkai Star Rail. I haven't played for a while but my coworker got me hyped about Aventurine only for me to patch and boot up the game and then realize whatever's going on with him is locked behind a main story quest I haven't beaten yet jshdfskjfhs I'm still on the Xianzhou Luofu!! That's what I get for being lazy I guess. I'm probably not going to pull for him, I've had terrible luck with 5-stars in this game and I'm eyeballing Boothill even though I know nothing about him except that he's a cyborg cowboy and I already love him for that. Good luck to anyone who is pulling for Aventurine/Jingliu though!

☆ Lately my hands/wrists have been hurting even more than usual, and I know it's from too much computer use/gaming but it's basically impossible to not use a computer and stuff!! A friend recommended compression gloves so I bought a real cheap pair to try and see if it helps any. I have a feeling I'll ditch them after a couple days like I did with the wrist brace I tried BUT hopefully not. These last few days have been real bad though so I'm willing to try anything, I couldn't even work on the fic I've been writing because typing was too much of a pain. 😑

☆ While I shouldn't be spending more money so soon after my previous pin purchases (the FFXVI pins arrived a couple days ago and they're even more gorgeous in person), I'm sooo tempted by this Pokemon sweets enamel pin Kickstarter by leaphere. I've bought Pokemon merch from them before and everything is so cute, and they're a really nice/helpful seller! They've got a couple of my fave Pokemon in this Kickstarter set so I'm like oh no... I may end up pledging for a couple pins anyway lmao. I definitely recommend their stuff if you're a Pokemon fan!

My work is pretty intense about ergonomic health and they have a software that prompts us to take microbreaks, 12 second pauses in typing. If you're having pain I might look into desk ergonomics and make sure your keyboard, mouse etc are placed at the optimal level - one thing I learned is that apparently having a separate mouse is way better than just using the laptop touchpad all the time, so I really need to invest in one of those for my personal laptop! And a plug in keyboard tbh. Anyway I won't micromanage you otherwise, take care of yourself!

I'm also kinda debating how I feel about these guys. Like some other comments I've seen I wish the head was a little... different... there's always something with a FR breed (or gene for that matter) tbh. I am also not sure why exactly they are ancients? They have 2 wings and 4 legs like usual, I don't think the big chonky tail warrants them being so weird they must be an ancient breed. I wish they were a little more leopard geckolike tbh, the tail reminds me of that and the face is soooooo cute.

I do think I will be able to gene both of them up very nicely though I haven't put a single gene on my auraboas yet either! VERY SRS BUSINESS.

I do use a separate mouse already (I hate using the touchpad haha) but that seems to create its own problem with the forearm pain, maybe because I'm not using the right size mouse?? I've never really considered desk height etc before because it all SEEMS fine to me but apparently I'm going to have to look up recommended arrangements and stuff. Thank you for the advice! I never used to have to care about any of this stuff but I guess now that I'm old it's coming back to bite me sjdfhksjhsk

Yeah I feel like...they need something ON their head?? idk. I'm just chalking it up to aesthetic preferences, they're not cute or cool enough for me. Aside from the dig-y claws and big tail they're kind of boring. (you're right about them not feeling much like an ancient breed?) but I'm sure other people are out there loving them so I wish them all the Dusthides they could possibly want haha. honestly I'm glad I can save my currency for a bit because I always go too wild buying dragons when a new breed or gene I like comes out.

NOT TO BE the student who has taken psych 101 blabbing all about their mental health expertise, but one big pieces of advice I have taken in are 1) move the things you use (keyboard, mouse) most as close to the edge of your desk as possible and have them at a level such that your wrist is straight while you handle those things, in other words if you face your palm down to the floor it's in line with your forearm. Otherwise yeah maybe look up the ergonomics gdhghdg I have never thought about it before either prior to this job but, yeah, it's important to our long term health...

And yeah! That is the thing about FR, if you don't like one breed just wait long enough and another will come along. I just always wish I could 100% enjoy all the new content u_u I hear Dusthides curl up into a ball when they're KO'd in the coli, so that's a cute trait, at least!
