no_true_pair last year lmao. I am not a very frequent writer. But as I expected, my first sentences tend to be short and sweet, though I had thought more of them would be dialogue because I used to open with dialogue a lot more, I feel. But I guess half is still a decent amount!
Drinking Buddies (Final Fantasy XVI, Cid/Otto)
“You have got to get a new cup,” Otto says, watching Cid refill his goblet for the third—the fourth?—time that night.
Respite (Final Fantasy XVI, Cid/Clive/Jill)
It was hard to mark the passage of time without any windows.
Phantom (Six of Crows, Kaz/Inej)
“The Wraith’s been spotted in Fifth Harbor.”
Bottled Up (Six of Crows, Kaz & Nina)
Kaz clearly thinks he's being discreet, but Nina knows Kaz, and she knows pining.
Undertaking (Grishaverse, Nikolai/Zoya)
“You see, the thing is…” Nikolai trails off, staring at Zoya.
Like Honey (Six of Crows, Inej & Nina)
“This is your idea of breakfast?” Nina asks, a frown wrinkling her brow.

The orphanage is quiet when Nikolai arrives late one summer afternoon, laden with packages as he slips in through the side door.
I also turned on AO3 kudos emails for the first time since 2012 or something after chatting with someone on here about them haha. I don't really care about kudos numbers but it's interesting to see what fics people are still reading after all this time. Like HOW are you people finding a 2012 Steve/Tony drabble in the absolutely ginormous sea of Steve/Tony fics on AO3. You literally couldn't even accidentally stumble upon it.
