Been semi-productive with media stuff lately, so a few updates:
▶ I finished playing Split Fiction! It's a two person co-op action/platformer game by the company that made It Takes Two, which was huge fun. I played ITT with my brother so when I heard they were making another game with the same kind of gameplay, I told him we had to play SF together haha. And SF was just as much fun!
The story follows Mio and Zoe, two aspiring authors who become trapped in their stories after a mishap with a VR machine built by a company that is attempting to use the machine to steal creative ideas. The game's levels are either fantasy or sci-fi themed, with different abilities on each level that you have to use to cooperatively solve puzzles and stuff. The story is pretty basic and the writing is kind of cheesy, but there's some really funny moments and it's a ton of fun to actually play. (For example at one point you're in a motorcycle chase and while one player has to drive the motorcycle, the other player has to deactivate the self-destruct using a smart phone lmao. I was laughing so hard while watching my bro try to go through everything I could barely steer the bike.)
The nice thing about SF (and ITT) is that only one person has to buy the game and you can either co-op locally or online! So I highly recommend both games for anyone looking for something to play with a friend. SF is very forgiving difficulty-wise too, I am not very good at platforming and I was dying constantly because I have no patience lmao but we still didn't have any trouble beating the game.
▶ I watched season 2 of Severance! Putting this behind a cut for spoilers. Overall, I feel like...I wasn't as impressed as I wanted to be? I don't know if my expectations were too high or if other people also feel the same as me that somehow this season wasn't quite as good as season 1.
The problem is I don't know if I can put into specific words why I think that lmao. It felt like this season dragged a little? That may have been entirely a me problem haha, like I didn't care about the episode where Cobel went back to her hometown at alllll. And it felt like everything we learned about Lumon this season was kind of letdown--like okay, they were creating multiple innies in one severed person...so? Is that supposed to be a surprise. I was waiting for them to be like anyway here's clones or mind transference or something!! (Also like, if Mark specifically had to be the one working on Gemma, what the hell have Helly/Irving/Dylan been working on the whole time.)
This isn't to say that I didn't enjoy season 2 haha, it's still an interesting show and I'm definitely going to watch season 3 whenever that happens. But also what could they possibly do in season 3 after that last episode, things are going to have to go in a really different direction now. Curious to see what they do!
Also Mr. Milchick continues to be the star of the show, I think he's probably my favorite character. I wish they'd done more with Irving this season because I'm still curious about his outie, who's clearly been researching Lumon. The episode with the ORTBO and Irving realizing something was wrong with Helly was really good.
BUT what did everyone else think?? Am I the odd one out here? Did I miss something huge this season that went over my head or something lol
▶ I watched Moana 2 and it was okay... I thought the messaging was nice but overall it just felt entirely forgettable. I can't tell if the music in Disney musicals these days is genuinely bad or the nostalgia for the old stuff is just that strong. Like I know we can't all be Alan Menken and Howard Ashman but come on, I watched the movie a couple hours ago and I can't even recall a single tune from it. (Not that all new Disney songs are terrible, I too had "We Don't Talk About Bruno" stuck in my head for weeks lmao. But just like, most of it.)
▶ I don't even play Marvel Rivals but the Emma Frost character reveal trailer omg... The thigh jiggle?? Ma'am... She looks so good lmao Emma's designs are always very hit or miss but I don't hate this one. (I would get rid of the blue lipstick though I have never been a blue lipstick Emma truther!!) Anyway now I'm like shit, do I need to play Marvel Rivals sjhdfkjss

I've always liked that they do things a little differently and as long as one person owns the game, anyone else can jump in (so definitely suited for parents and their kids). Really consumer-friendly in an environment that no longer is and I have respect for that.
I didn't really see the point of making a second Moana, but your sentiment seems to be the general opinion. Plus, The Rock annoys me LMAO so sitting through another movie with him in it is difficult. Which is a shame, because I like Moana herself and the concept of her... Disney being Disney I guess.
🤐 I could go on about Rivals LMAO but I don't want my comment to turn into a rant fest. But yes, they have extremely hot people (looking at you, Iron Fist) and if I still played I would be so weak buying her skins!! She is so sexy!

I've heard so much good stuff about Severence too. I'll watch it later this year after Murderbot concludes. (I'm only getting Apple TV for one month, so I'll be binging the two shows and a Ted Lasso rewatch if I can.)

Haha yeah a lot of the sequels these days seem pointless, but then again there's a lot of bad old Disney sequels so it's only fair they continue the tradition sjfhdskdjfs (It'd be nice if they could surprise us with a good one sometimes though!!) The Rock is definitely the most unfortunate part of those movies lmao... I think Moana herself is very cool and I liked the first movie well enough, but yeah. And the second movie seems to be setting up a THIRD movie so !!
Haha I am always down for listening to rants if you want to go off 👀

It's definitely an interesting show, I enjoy the weirdness of it. I watched both seasons back-to-back basically so now I'm sad I'll have to actually wait for the next season...

Well honestly my opinions may be half baked and outdated since their next season is approaching, so I don't want to influence your opinion before you play if you decide to! I'm hoping their game is better (because I only played competitive) as it might be now! Maybe... 🤞 They definitely need to nerf all tanks damage and add another ban or two though. I'll be interested in hearing what you think about it if you do play!

So you might actually enjoy it! I didn't really like Overwatch when I played (granted, this was the VERY beginning when D.Va was considered the worst character in the game hah..haaha..) but liked this one immediately. Not really into hero shooters in general. 🤔
So honestly you might be used to the BS that comes with games like this compared to me and can handle it, lmao!

OW is the only shooter game I've ever played consistently, I'm horrible at regular shooter games but I like that there's different playstyles for different characters in OW, so Rivals definitely looks up my alley. I think it's just a matter of will I ever stop being lazy and download it to try it out lmaooo
