I don't use Spotify much but here's my Spotify Wrapped, why not. I can 100% blame Veronica Roth for skewing half my results.


Zero surprises on the artist front, for most of the year I basically just listened to k-pop albums when I was using Spotify, and those are 3 of my faves. Florence is Florence, her and Marina's first couple of albums are like, top albums of all time to me.


Here is where Ms. Roth swooped in to personally ruin my Spotify Wrapped sjhfksjhdfks. When I read When Among Crows I discovered Veronica Roth had created a playlist for the book, which I then proceeded to listen to a million times. I am listening to it right now as I type up this entry.

"Bad Energy" slaps, I had that on repeat by itself for like a day straight lmao. It also introduced me to Lilyisthatyou who has some other super catchy songs. What's throwing me off is "All Along the Watchtower"... I definitely started listening to the playlist without finishing it more than once and would just restart from the top next time, but how did song #6 end up in my top 5 and not songs 2-5?? I definitely listened to "No One Dies From Love" and "Aerials" independently a few times on top of it... Something's not adding up, Spotify!!


These were just funny sjhfdskjfds I had a period where I just listened to the suggested playlists formed based on me listening to the Journey soundtrack too much, and the second was a similar situation but based off "Seafarer" from my top songs list.

While on the topic of music, TWICE just released a new track featuring Megan Thee Stallion lmao I love that they're working together. It's not my favorite English release of theirs ("The Feels" has yet to be dethroned) but it's catchy and everyone looks sooo good. Chaeyoung has lines and screentime! And Jihyo with the knives hello?????

TWICE recently featured on a remix of Megan's "Mamushi" that's also worth a listen, and I just want them to keep doing collabs!!

Florence + the Machine truly is something eternally excellent. (Especially, as you said, the first couple of albums.) It doesn't matter how much I listen to her; it's always still so good!

I love it when authors create playlists for their books. (If you're into that, I know Claire Legrand does it, too!)

Lungs/Ceremonials truly are forever albums for me, no bad songs, can listen to them on repeat anytime. Marina's The Family Jewels/Electra Heart are the same, I'm pretty sure all 4 albums came out within a 3-4 year span of each other when I was in college so they really cemented themselves in my psyche lol

I totally just stumbled across the When Among Crows post on that blog, I can't even remember how I found it, but they have a ton of other authors' playlists on there too which is really cool.

The Mamushi remix is sooo good, I never knew I wanted a Megan-Twice collab until it happened but I'm so glad we got TWO!!

Oh, agreed, those two Marina albums are also very good! I'd say I listen to Florence + the Machine more / have her more deeply embedded in my psyche, but all four of those albums are "can never get tired of listening to this" music.

I listen to waaaay too much kpop and I'm always happy to give recs if you're interested! TWICE, (G)i-dle, and Le Sserafim are all really good, they very rarely disappoint me.
