au_challenge is now live! I advertised it on a couple fandom comms and it's gotten more interest than I expected; I guess people really do love those bingo cards lol. But I'm very glad, hopefully people will get some use out of it!
If you're interested in AUs, please check it out! It's a multi-fandom, multi-medium fanwork challenge that has prompt tables you can take and/or a bingo card you can request. No deadlines or anything, this is an anytime challenge you can work on at your leisure.
Le Sserafim's new EP dropped today and it slapsss. A lot of EDM and some hip-hop influence.
Brief thoughts on the tracks:
Chasing Lightning - This is one of those mostly spoken word type tracks which I don't really care for but the beat is good. I wish it was a real song because the "chorus", brief as it is, sounds good.
Crazy - The title track, easily the best track on the EP. Love it, love the choreo, love the music video. Wikipedia describes this as an "EDM-based house song" which seems redundant isn't all house EDM based. I don't get music genres. Anyway this is absolutely worth a listen/watch!
Pierrot - My second favorite b-side after 1-800-Hot-N-Fun. This is the more hip-hoppy one, and apparently it samples Kim Wan-sun's "Pierrot Smiling at Us" which is neat. The instrumental invokes almost a carnival or circus feeling, I don't know how to describe it haha.
1-800-Hot-N-Fun - Crazy is probably the best song on the EP, but this is the one that's been stuck in my head all day. The track has some heavy guitar use which makes it sound like more of a rock song, and the post-chorus is sooo catchy. Love it!!
Crazier - Why is this one even here!! It's a slow song which is an automatic strike from me, and on top of that it doesn't fit the vibe of the rest of the EP. Like there's nothing really technically wrong with it but I don't need a cooldown song I just want more fun beats!!
I've got a long weekend thanks to Labor Day so I'm hoping I'll be able to get some stuff done I've been putting off! Unfortunately I just started watching a new TV show and have been reading a wild amount of fanfic lately so I can pretty safely say that's how I'll be wasting my weekend. Anyone else have any fun plans?
