Worked on Saturday so I had today off and I had a nice day out with my family! We went to a hibachi restaurant for lunch and then got ice cream afterward. Sadly didn't take any pics since I didn't order anything out of the usual for me, but it was all very good. ♥ I also got my purchase from Savenart in the mail today, which was sort of an impulse buy because I've been trying to behave and save money for the anime con this month!! But I'm a big fan of this artist and there were some sales I wanted to snag so I did make a small purchase.

The strawberry ramune charm and sakura notepad were both on sale super cheap because they were b-grades (that look perfectly good to me tbh) so I was glad I was able to grab them. And then I couldn't resist getting some stickers because, you know, stickers. Idk if I've promo'd this artist before but I highly recommend them, they have a ton of cute Japanese themed snack merch and a magical potion/spellbook collection, all the designs are gorgeous. I've backed like 4 of their pin Kickstarters at this point and they're a great seller.

I saw a few people mention fandomgiftbasket so I checked it out and it seems like a fun, low-pressure "exchange" so I decided to toss my name in for a basket. The reveal date is a couple months away so hopefully I'll have time to write some stuff for people. Definitely check it out, signing up doesn't obligate you to create anything and there's still time to sign up!


Speaking of lowkey challenges, does anyone know if there's any sort of active AU bingo or prompt comm on DW? (I did find one that seems to be active but it's members only so I can't see exactly how it's set up but it seems to be a monthly prompt kind of thing.) If not do you think there'd be interest in a really casual one? 🤔 Like no specific timeline, just get a bingo card or prompt table and fill it out at your leisure sort of set up. idk I want there to be some kind of AU prompt comm but also I have no time to be running schedules or anything lmao. I just love AUs!!

Can't think of any AU comm at the moment, although someone in my circles was participating in augustwritingchallenge and I guess you could subscribe to the RSS feed here? :D Either, it sounds fun, especially if casual!

I'm not aware of an active AU bingo, but there is a huge variety of bingos on DW, and I've seen gen ones floating around that might be adjacent to what you're looking for. I would highly recommend combing through fandomcalendar. Here's the bingo tag for ya!

Ooh that's actually different from the AU-gust prompt list I found, seems like now is a good time to go hunting for AU prompt ideas. I'll ruminate on the comm idea, I used to love how many prompt comms there were that just had challenge tables to take or whatever with no real deadlines. 🤔

Haha I've already signed up for far too many bingos but thank you for the link! I scoped out fandomcalendar just now to see if there's any active AU-specific comms but no dice it seems. Mostly I'm just thinking about having something no pressure/no deadline for people like me who miss all the old challenge comms with prompt tables you could take any time. Oh!! Oh!!!!! Prompt tables!! The copy and paste kind! God it’s been so long I didn’t comprehend what you were looking for. 😂 Yes, I miss those too. There’s still a number of the old ones on LJ and I yoink them from there when I’m craving one but I’ve never come across an AU one there or on DW, but I’m sure people would enjoy one! Gosh it would be great to see a resurgence of tables like that sigh sigh.

Yeah it seems like bingos and exchanges are mostly what I see around these days, so I assume people like them but there's actual deadlines and pressure with those, we need to bring back the eternal prompt table!! I have a bunch of old comms bookmarked for the same purpose too haha. I'm thinking if I make a comm or something I'll put together a bunch of different prompt tables and maybe also offer a randomized bingo card, that way people can pick their poison? Or something like that!
